Budapest Nightlife
Corvinteto
Corvinteto is one of the newer clubs in Budapest. It is built on top of an old department store building. It is a very nice spot to hang out in the city with the one and only open air rooftop underground club in Budapest! They have the panorama, comfortable sofas, dancing until dawn, sunrise in the middle of the city, on top of the once state owned department store.
Godor Klub
This spacious, jazzy club is right in the heart of downtown on what once was the parking lot of the city's communist-era bus station. Later on it was a hollowed out, abandoned construction site for the National Theater, which ended up elsewhere and therefore referred to by some as "the ditch." During the summertime in the afternoons you will find many students here having a beer, a coffee or just enjoying the wireless internet and the sun. In the evening there is a lot going on in Gödör Klub like live concerts, art exhibitions and much more. There even is a big pool of water right above the club where people can put their feet in the water and enjoy a cold drink.
Old Man’s music pub
The Old Man’s Pub is the centre of the Hungarian pop music life with the most popular blues, soul and funky bands playing every night starting from 21 PM. The pub resembles the legendary marquee club in London, where The Beatles started their career. They usually start off with concerts whereas from 11pm the party starts off on the dance floor with a DJ providing the music.
Morrison’s Opera Music Pub
Situated only a few yards to the west of the Opera House, Morrison’s is a long-popular cellar venue distinguishing itself from others by their karaoke evenings.
The Morrison’s Opera Music Pub is easily recognisable by the signature red telephone booth, it is as a matter of fact a typical phone booth originating from London.
Morrison’s 2 Music Pub
This is the little brother of the Morrison’s Opera Music Pub, yet it is bigger too.
Morrison’s 2 is suitable for the larger party venues and like the Opera located in a cellar.
The No.2 attracts a younger crowd and has four dance floors, half a dozen bars and an enormous games room upstairs. The club even has an excellent courtyard.
Zöld Pardon
Zöld Pardon is located directly next to the Petöfi bridge and is very popular to the public during the summer period. This is for the multitude of live concerts of Hungarian bands that play their music in the evening. It is spacious and aside from the several bars they offer plenty of space to party. The music style ranges from Hip Hop on the one dance floor, to Pop music on the other, where the more commercial music is being played. The Hungarians refer to Zöld Pardon as ‘ZP’.
